Playa Santiago

Playa Santiago is probably one of the main tourist centre on the island, having a port and four beaches and a thriving based on fishing and agriculture.

Santiago beach has a promenade lined with restaurants that offer a good choice of fish dishes. One can also see the vestiges of times gone in the small boats laying on the beach or anchored in the new quay.

Valle Gran Rey

Valle Gran Rey is perhaps the busiest tourist centre on the island, with most of the hotels centred here. It is set in a deep valley surrounded by fertile land and plantations.

Some of the best views of the town and ravines can be found at Mirador del Santo and further south, there is Mirador César Manrique, where there is also a restaurant.

From Valle Gran Rey, you can go on guided walks (run by Timah), take a boat trip and learn about whales and dolphins (at Club del Mar), go on a cycling expedition (with Bike Station) or go diving and snorkelling with (Fisch & Co Tel: + 34 922 80 56 88).
